These are exact replicas of the elusive OEM 3.0TDI 04008275 vacuum caps that come stock on many 3.0 TDI vehicles, for no other reason than i felt like it.
These are perfect for capping off unused vacuum lines whilst doing naughty stuff to your vehicle.
They can be used for virtually all german diesel vehicles (not just VAG) which typically use 4mm or 4.5mm vacuum lines.
I’ve been including off-the-shelf vacuum caps in my kits for a while but something never felt quite right about them.
I just really liked the VW ones that come on A6/A7/Touareg and some Q7/Cayennes, they were very robust, easy to remove and install, and made from AEM rubber. But you can’t buy them anywhere and that really pisses me off.
Theyre just really nice. very thick and have like a oversized head which makes it easy to grab them. ok that sounds kind of weird when i type it out but hear me out.
Stock vacuum soft lines and rubber lines are AEM rubber (which is ubiquitous in transmission gaskets and charge air hoses). AEM is ~3x more expensive than Nitrile or EPDM but it has superior working temperature, and has much higher resistance to oil and ozone even at higher temperature.
Its what the stock ones use anyways so i was like fuckit. you only live once. I’m not going to drop infinity bucks on custom tooling to make these just to cheap out on the material.
Considering how much i spent to make these i did also feel obligated to slap my tacky logo on it. it is what it is.
You can tell im not a good businessman because no one in their right mind would buy tooling to make these it literally makes no financial sense.
But i did it anyways because the world is my oyster. And if you buy these, it can be your oyster too.
