This is a kit of all the stuff i hate putting together in little bags that everyone needs when removing or reinstalling the EGR cooler on 2013+ 2nd Gen engines.
Whats included:Â
- 2x OEM-style Vacuum caps (no OEM availability)
theses are also available seperately from this kit if desired - Small O-ring closest to tip (WHT002287B ) – 5.6x2mm EPDM
- Large O-ring closest to connector – (no OEM availability) – 9x2mm EPDM
- 2x M14 caps for crossover pipe threads on the high pressure rails
- 1x M18 cap for rail pressure sensor
- 1x M18 female plug in the passenger-side high pressure rail
I’m really proud of my vacuum caps 🙂 they’re 1:1 with the OE ones that come on our cars that unfortunately you can’t buy anywhere, and made with the same super-robust (and costly) AEM rubber as OEM.
As for the o-rings, I don’t buy them off the shelf, they are made-to order peroxide-cured EPDM rather than sulfur for super long life and extended temperature range.
Basically what happened is I had custom ultra bouj vacuum caps made plus o-rings and i asked the gasket supplier if they could source some nice injection-molded caps to make cute little kits with (because i am lazy af) so I dont have to do it myself. So then these were born. Shipping was ungodly inefficient because of how low density these are but who cares, its not like there’s an international oil crisis going on.
i work late a lot (i quit my job but they forced me to keep working), and between 2-4am the microplastics in my brain start talking to me and i kind of zone out and find myself stimming with these little packets late at night, running my fingers through them like theyre blades of grass in a field. its weird. i should probably tell this to my therapist rather than writing this here but my insurance doesn’t cover it.
