Since its bathed in hot transmission fluid for its entire life, its typically replaced when doing regular interval service on your Aisin 0C8 transmission.
I hate plastic depending on context. Ok for bags i get it. a metal bag would be very difficult to use. like chainmail ? how would that even work. I dont even know.
So I made this cause I once again was pissed off paying $20 for a piece of plastic that I would basically want to replace again at my next fluid and filter service.
So now you can pay $20 and get something that lasts forever (i have infinity mile warranty on these).
The key idea here is you pay ME instead of VAG.
Instead of VAG getting all your money, I get that money and take the difference in the cost of the product and the amount i sell it to you and stash it in my bank account for later use.
Its a non-intuitive concept they taught me in business school (I dropped out).
Machined from 12L14 steel, black oxided cause its the literally the most ideal material for this part IMO, for nice thread engagement and high resistance to galling.
Pretty much a non issue since this part is really going to be installed once and last till the end of time, but hey it can’t hurt. Maybe you like stimming by unscrewing and screwing it in. i wont judge.
12L14 is steel with a tiny pinch of lead in and is known for being really nice for making threads in applications like this, drain plugs, etc.
Its not enough to make you permanently dumb, alloyed with less than 0.5%, but still better not give it to your child to use as a pacifier. Just in case.
