This part will only work with EGR removed. Do not buy it if you are re-installing the stock EGR please buy this one instead.
Cost-down version of “EVO” Intermediate flange. 100% as functional, just doesn’t look as fancy.
Replaces OEM Part number 059121506H AND o-ring to hose adapter used in all current cooler delete kits on the market.
The stock nylon intermediate flange is practically guaranteed to crack when removing the EGR cooler and is not a lifetime part, exposed to brutal temperature cycling, moisture and hot coolant, and scorching heat from the turbocharger/EGR plumbing.
This is the final piece to remove all remaining plastic from the valley, creating a totally bulletproof and serviceable coolant loop that can be serviced without removing the intake manifold.
In all kits on the market, the hose connection to the temperature sensor fitting was accomplished with a “sleeve fitting” that seals against the intermediate flange’s O-ring similar to the stock EGR cooler.
The complete integration of all hose connections removes the need for any adapter sleeve, thus removing an additional sealing point that can leak in addition to avoiding failures of the stock plastic part.
So why call it fugly? This gives a negative connotation that the part is low quality.
Actually its a really nice piece. And since we only remove the material that is necessary, they are nicely weighted (and everyone knows weight means quality, right). This is why knockoff airpods usually have little lead castings inside the case to make it feel like the real thing. dont ask me how i know that ( i swallowed the lead)
These billet flanges are optimized for functionality and cost, and designed to be the absolute best bang for buck. They have all the key, necessary features required to match the EVO functionality, they just dont look as polished and sculpted, cause they dont spend as much machine time cause thats how i wanted it.
Im a terrible businessman because if i was smart i would just shit-can the EVO flange and sell these chunky boys for like $199 like some people (im not gonna name any names right now but if youre reading this please stop making razor sharp hose barbs on everything youre gonna burst the hoses). And make infinity profit margin basically cause as i said, they are a lot cheaper to make when theyre chunky like this.
Well i dont care im going to sell them at a price i believe is fair, keep the evo flange how it is and give people options.
But yeah it totally is not good business sense i know
This part was drawn and verified off of a 3D scan of the OEM flange, so it works flawlessly with all cooler deletes on the market and either stock or delete bypass valve.
Machined in 5-axis to perfectly match all stock features for perfect hose seating and correct cooling path segregation (cough cough… GDM).
This includes the tricky-to-machine angled recess for the bypass valve connection to allow the hose to fully seat.
Beautifully machined and anodized in the US from 6061 aluminum.
Seal gland is precisely matched to stock to use OEM seal.
Includes OEM VAG seal and 2x Genuine VAG M6x16 (although only 1 spare one is needed). Torque spec is 9nm.
